Where the pickup starts
The listings differ in how precisely they describe the pickup. Xplore Colombia collects in Laureles or El Poblado, Medellin Best Local Tours in El Poblado, Envigado and Sabaneta in the south of the valley. Green Bike Tours and BiciTour name a pickup around ten in the morning but no district. The dream of flying gives Laureles as an example and prefers morning flights. If you are staying further out, for example in Envigado, check that your address is inside the pickup area before you pay.

The last stretch is on foot
A transfer takes you to the road below the launch, not to the take-off spot. From there you walk up a long flight of steps; reviewers count 200 to 300 of them. One traveller on the Green Bike Tours trip describes it as a short hike from the car park, another was surprised to find she had to climb and reports that the driver wanted extra money to drive further up. Ask when you book whether the car goes as far as the road allows and whether that is part of the price. Reviewers also mention a small toll on the road to San Félix; it is worth asking if the transfer covers it.
Save the operator’s WhatsApp number before the day. Reviewers of Green Bike Tours and Only Fly write that the operator kept them updated about the pickup, in one case over WhatsApp. That matters when fog or wind moves the schedule.
Booking the flight only
Without a transfer you reach San Félix by taxi or ride-hailing app and meet the pilot at the launch. Only Fly sells the transport as an add-on for one to four people, which can suit a small group. ParapenteSanFelix lists transport to the flight site but does not confirm that it starts at your hotel. One passenger of ParapenteSanFelix writes that finding the location is a challenge for visitors from abroad, so pin the launch on your map in advance. Breakfast, video and the rest of the package
The pickup bookings differ mainly in what else comes with them. Xplore Colombia, Medellin Best Local Tours and The dream of flying add breakfast. Green Bike Tours, BiciTour, Xplore Colombia and The dream of flying include the video, while Medellin Best Local Tours sells the GoPro footage separately. Which flights include the footage is on our video page. BiciTour lists a weight limit of 122 kg, the lowest among these packages, and Medellin Best Local Tours gives two different values.
